MARS Group cable purchase In preparation for Field Day, MARS is doing a Group Coax Cable purchase and extending participation to current members of the club. You can purchase two types of coax, and each type can come in two different lengths. See the spread sheet for descriptions of the cable and length types. To purchase fill out the spreadsheet with the types and quantities you want and send the spreadsheet back to Steve Darrah.

MARS - ARRL Field Day
MARS will be participating in ARRL Field Day again this year. Our site will be the Farmers Branch Fire Station #3 / Bob Phelps Fire Administration Building, 13333 Hutton Drive in Farmers Branch (off Valley View West of I-35.) Field Day this year is Saturday June 23 and Sunday June 24. We can operate from an AIR CONDITIONED conference room, and we will have plenty of room for antennas and plenty of parking. We even are planning on having a Marshall's catered BBQ dinner! So plan your Calendars now and come join in the fun.
Ham-Com
Ham-Com will be held at the usual place (Plano Centre) Friday June 8 and Saturday June 9. MARS will have two outdoor tables. We will accept donated gear to sell at Ham-Com to help raise some money for MARS. If you want to put something on the MARS Table "on consignment" (not donate) we will take a 10% commission to pay expenses and raise some money. Contact Steve KD5YPB, kd5ypb@arrl.net or David K5GIL, k5gil@arrl.net for more info.
Creating An Account
If you want to create an account on the website (which right now doesn't add any features but may in the future), you must use your CALLSIGN. Any other names will be rejected and the account deleted.
MARS Now Takes Paypal
Any payment to the Metrocrest Amateur Radio Society can now be done via the popular PayPal. This is an easy way to pay your annual dues. Click on the "Read More link" to get the form to make your payment.
Ham Radio Magazine Stickers
MARS now has a supply of stickers for putting on your unwanted ham radio magazines. These stickers are sized specifically for QST, but will work on anything. The intent is for you, our members, to place these into places frequented by the general public in order to generate interest in ham radio and in our club. Please be sure to “obtain permission” from the location before actually leaving them. Any place with a waiting room is perfect. Thanks to Randy, W5WZY and Melanie, W5WZZ, for designing and making the finished product available.
