Wednesday night, August 29, 2007 at 8PM, we will begin the first of
The MARS WEEKLY INFORMATION NETS on the MARS Club repeater
145.210 PL 110.9 with a negative offset.
This net will be held weekly every Wednesday Night at 8PM sharp for the
purpose of disseminating MARS Club information, Club announcements,
General announcements, Tech Talk, and a Buy, Sell, Swap or Trade section.
Each week we will have different topics for our Tech Talk given by
HAM Radio Operators experienced in the specific area of discussion.
Glen Warnstaff K5CPD, will be coordinating the TECH TALK Subject matter
and speakers for the weekly nets. If you would like to be a Tech Talk Presenter,
please contact Glen at
K5CPD@arrl.net and let him put you on the schedule to
speak during the TECH TALK SECTION. We will always try to plan and know weeks
in advance what our scheduled presentations are going to be so we can use the
club website to download Power Point Presentations or supporting documentation.
We are also be asking for volunteers to be Net Control Stations and run the net.
These will be controlled Nets with scripts to follow so if you have ever wanted to
practice being a NCS, without the pressure and anxiety of a RACES/ARES event,
here is your chance.
We would also like to encourage our MARS Youth Group to participate in these
nets so they can gain experience operating under a controlled net and learn
proper net procedures and etiquette by participating in actual nets. These nets
are designed to first and foremost be FUN and learning tools for everyone
involved, so please come and CHECK IN this next Wednesday for the
FIRST MARS WEEKLY INFORMATION NET!
I hope to hear everyone on the NET this Wednesday at 8 PM sharp!
