Below is the link to order dinner for the MARS Christmas Party on December 11, 2025. The reservations are handled by Zeffy. These are the same folks who handled table reservations for the DFW Ham Expo.
Zeffy is a service for nonprofits to handle donations, ticketing, and auctions. Zeffy does not charge the nonprofit for their services, and there are no credit card handling fees!
However, Zeffy asks folks to leave a donation/fee/tip when they book their registration. This donation/fee/tip does not flow to the American Legion! It all goes to Zeffy. The amount defaults to 17%, but can easily be changed to zero or any other amount. This is how Zeffy makes money. Here is a screenshot (click to enlarge) of how to change this fee amount:
If you want to make a donation to the Legion hall—not a tip, as the food folks are volunteers—there is a place on the registration link to add a donation. Here is a screenshot (click to enlarge):
The only folks at the Legion hall that get tips are the bartenders, collected on the drink tabs or the tip jars on the bar.
