K5MET Recognized

November 26, 2019

A contingent of MARS members gathered in Tom Brewer’s hospital room to present a Lifetime Achievement Award for his many years of service to the Club and to amateur radio.

Club President Kevin Grantham, N5KRG, gave the award with Tom’s family and friends looking on.

Tom, K5MET, with Becky Brewer, WA5ZSR, and Clint Brewer, KB5LYK

Tom is one of the Club’s earliest members dating back to 1979 and a major mover in growing the Club. He’s served as President and as an Elmer to countless hams.

This is the first Lifetime Achievement Award from MARS and we congratulate Tom on this honor.

Field Day Tally

The final results show that MARS made 109 contacts with a total score of 1,202 including bonus points. We operated as a 3A – Commercial station with 30 participants under our club call KB5A. Congratulations to all for a great showing. Field Day 2020 is June 27 – 28.
