The famous Grimeton Radio Station in Sweden will celebrate its 100th anniversary. One hundred years ago, the station was officially opened even though traffic started in December the previous year.
Using the unique Alexanderson alternator the station will operate under the callsign SAQ with two scheduled transmissions on 17.2 kHz (that’s KILO HERTZ) using CW. At 0830 UTC the alternator will be started. The first transmission begins at 0900 UTC. The second transmission is scheduled for 1300 UTC.
Amateur Radio Station SK6SAQ will be QRV during the day on these frequencies:
3 517.2 kHz CW
7.017.2 kHz CW
14.017.2 KHz CW
3.755 kHz SSB
7.140 kHz SSB
If you can’t tune that low, SAQ will live stream the event on their YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC-83S-l9JKD1iuhsXx3XQ3g.
