Members train with the MRC
On Saturday, September 27, several members of MARS, the Carrollton-Farmers Branch-Addison RACES/ARES group and other area hams spent the morning learning about the radio kits provided by the Dallas County Medical Reserve Corps (MRC). In case of a disease outbreak or medical emergency requiring mass medication or immunization, the rigs would be deployed as part of Point-of-Dispensing (POD) operations. Hams became familiar with the equipment and practiced basic operations including voice and data communication.
